4 Nov 2009 Tehran Iranians protest against the government of Iran

It appears that with an almost complete news black out all is not doing well in Iran with the opposition. Some more footage from today's protest

Clashes erupted between Iranian university and security forces in Teheran, according to various media reports.

The students were apparently protesting against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad's regime, on the 30th anniversary of taking 52 US Embassy employees hostage for 444 days.

Iranian security forces fired tear gas canisters at the protesters, Israel Radio reported.

Reuters reported that the security forces had come together to quell any rebellion that might break out.

Vocal opposition leaders Mirhossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karoubi had reportedly issued calls for anti-Ahmadinejad protests.

Interesting how youth has such a short memory. It was the youth and college students that led to the overthrow of the Shah. Ima bad Jammie was among those, and now he battles them.

Kharoubi got beaten and his followers took him away.

Mousavi was prevented from joining in when his house was surrounded by Basiji and others on motorcycles, etc..
